Voice settings (text-to-speech)
Ravelun can turn your written stories into spoken narration automatically. The TTS settings page is where Ravelun staff connect the voice service and choose which voices to use for each language.
Open Settings → TTS from the menu.
Ravelun staff only.
What you configure
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| API key | Connects to ElevenLabs (the voice provider). Once saved, the key is hidden for security. |
| Voice model | Which generation model to use — the default works well for multiple languages. |
| Voice per language | Pick a different voice for English, Dutch, German, etc. |
How route builders use this
Content editors don’t visit this page. They click Generate voice on stops and messages in the route editor. These settings determine how those voices sound.
If generation fails, check:
- API key is still valid
- A voice is chosen for the language you’re working in
- The text isn’t empty
Tips for natural-sounding walks
- Write for the ear — short sentences, conversational tone
- Read scripts aloud before generating; if you stumble, rewrite
- Use the same language voice consistently across all stops on one route
- Regenerate after big script changes
